BLUEBONNET MOSAIC- DOWNTOWN AUSTIN

2025- Outside ATX Towers- Downtown Austin, TX

This large-scale mosaic was commissioned by Tishman Speyer and created as a permanent public artwork in downtown Austin. Set against a soft pink ground, bluebonnet flowers emerge in rich mosaic detail—an abstracted nod to Texas’ most iconic wildflower, reimagined through color, texture, and rhythm.

The piece unfolded over months of design development, material selection, and hands-on fabrication, culminating in a carefully orchestrated installation. Each element was placed with both durability and visual poetry in mind, allowing the mosaic to live comfortably within the urban landscape while still carrying a sense of warmth and place.

Rooted in regional identity yet contemporary in execution, the work bridges craft and architecture—offering a moment of softness, color, and quiet recognition of the natural world within the city.
